American Honda Motor Co. announced sales increases across some brands, including the Honda Accord, for the month of February. U.S. sales were up 12.7% versus year ago numbers. These numbers are quite impressive especially given the poor performance of the truck division! The Acura division fared well with an increase of 16.7%. But the Honda Accord line was a big winner with an increase in sales of over 40% and the number one nameplate in sales with 22,456 units. Do you think the recent economic turnaround and increase in new car demand, coupled with Toyota’s problems has helped the Honda Accord just a little??
While Honda said they remain cautiously optomistic, they are happy to see increased consumer interest in their vehicles, especially their all new Honda Accord Crosstour.
So things continue to improve for Honda in general and the Honda Accord looks poised to continue to lead the way for Honda. The Honda Accord has sold 43215 units year to date, versus 32,557 units year to date last year. Meanwhile the Accord Crosstour, competing against the ultra popular Chevrolet Equinox, continues to shine with 4,169 units sold year to date.
